|  | Diplomats' Spouses visits Al AinMar 28, 2006 - 12:27 - Abu Dhabi, March 28th, 2006 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, yesterday organized a trip to Al Ain city for the spouses of Diplomats and members of the Club Diplomatique in Abu Dhabi. Mariam Hareb Al Dhaheri, Senior Guide from Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, Department of Antiquities and Tourism in Al Ain welcomed the visitors and gave them detailed briefing on the collections that in the Al Ain National Museum, which was the first stop of the trip. They were all seated in a tent, offered Arabian coffee and dishes as a way to have the natural feeling of the local culture. They also went on tour of Al Ain Oasis, where they saw a traditional farmer's way of climbing a palm tree. They were briefly lectured about various kinds of dates. The next stop was the Al Ain Palace Museum, which was the old palace of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The palace, which was built in 1937, was renovated in order to be a symbol for the younger generations, tourists and other visitors to the country, to provide for them physical information about UAE's ancient and contemporary history. Next was the Camel Market, then Jebel Hafeet Mountain, where they were served lunch at Mercure Hotel which is situated at the top of the mountain. Later they toured the Al Mubazzarah Park that includes the famous hot springs that is used for relaxing and medication. Six students from Al Ain Higher Colleges of Technology, and their Activities Coordinator, Tonia Michael, accompanied the visitors on their tour through Al Ain city as a way of enhancing their abilities and experiencing such events for the benefit of their future careers.
